Since 2011, the national regulation on occupational noise has increased its requirements with the creation of the Occupational Exposure to Noise Protocol (PREXOR), obliging companies to comply with a series of elements in order to preserve the hearing health of their workers.
PROSAC SpA has professionals who have worked implementing the PREXOR protocol for more than 5 years in companies in the southern part of the country from Los Angeles to Punta Arenas, providing comprehensive acoustic advice on occupational noise.
ACOUSTIC CONSULTING INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING SERVICES
The main objective of the PREXOR protocol is to reduce the incidence and prevalence of occupational hearing loss, which in simple words is to reduce the number of occupationally deaf workers in our country.
Our company has the professionals and the appropriate instrumentation to carry out the evaluation of occupational noise according to the standards established by the Ministry of Health, to achieve full compliance with the requirements that any company with noise problems must meet for their workers.
PREXOR states that noise must be initially controlled at the source or origin. If this is not feasible, measures should be implemented in the propagation pathway (from the source to the receptor), and ultimately, control measures should be considered at the receptor.
Therefore, PROSAC SpA offers the service of elaboration and construction of control measures to reduce the dose of noise that affects workers within the companies. (Link to noise control section)
Noise maps are graphic representations of the noise in a place and allow, based on a color scale, to identify the sectors where it is necessary to intervene, as well as those quiet sectors that must be protected and avoid an increase in noise.
Our company has the necessary equipment and software for the preparation of quantitative and qualitative noise exposure risk maps, which are mandatory for companies.
The use of HPE by workers should be considered as a last measure of protection, as long as it is not technically feasible to implement technical and administrative measures.
PROSAC SpA makes recommendations according to the Guide for the selection and control of hearing protectors of the Institute of Public Health of Chile, making the necessary calculations that are adjusted to the noise spectrum to which workers are exposed.
Due to the vast experience that our professionals have implementing the PREXOR protocol, PROSAC SpA has the tools to provide full advice regarding national occupational noise regulations, where in addition to the above, we also consider the following points:
– Development of the management system for the monitoring of workers occupationally exposed to noise.
– Occupational noise training program.
– Hearing health surveillance program (Audiometries).
– Follow-up in response to the requirements of audit authorities.
The main objective of the PREXOR protocol is to reduce the incidence and prevalence of occupational hearing loss, which in simple words is to reduce the number of deaf workers.
PROSAC SpA performs this projection through the elaboration of noise maps with advanced B&K Predictor Lim-A software, modeling the exclusive sound contribution of noise sources and fronts.
PROSAC SpA offers a comprehensive environmental noise assessment service, for the verification of compliance with national regulations D.S. 38/11 MMA and international reference standards.
PROSAC SpA carries out integral turnkey projects, considering environmental and labor compliance, including the necessary noise measurements and more.
PROSAC SpA thanks to its experience in acoustic noise and vibration measurement services, which allows us to comply with national and international standards and regulations.
